Northwest Railway Museum, Snoqualmie, WA

The Northwest Railway Museum is a railroad museum in Snoqualmie, King County, Washington.

The Snoqualmie Depot was constructed in 1890. The Snoqualmie Depot has now been restored to its turn of the century grandeur and is again presented as an operating train station. Museum visitors traveling on the Snoqualmie Valley Railroad purchase their tickets from the original 1890 ticket window.

Snoqualmie, WA

Snoqualmie is a city next to Snoqualmie Falls in King County, Washington. The city is home to the Northwest Railway Museum. The population was of 10,670 at the 2010 census.

Mount St. Helens

Mount St. Helens, a volcano in southwestern Washington exploded on May 18, 1980. On the morning of May 18, and earthquake created a landslide, and then the top of the mountain exploded. Ash and other particles fell as far away as western Minnesota. So much ash fell in Spokane, 250 miles away, that the sun was blocked out. Sadly, 57 people were killed.

Roslyn, WA.

Roslyn is a small rural town with a current population of 1015. Roslyn is located 80 miles east of Seattle, near Interstate 90. Roslyn founded in 1886 as the coal-mining town and played a historical role in Washington State. “The extensive coal fields in the area fueled the Northern Pacific Railroad’s trains during construction and early operation of a direct rail line through the Cascade Mountains.”
